Quick answer: A Certificate of Insurance (COI) is a snapshot of your policies for a job owner, GC, landlord, or lender. This free checklist helps contractors and business owners confirm named insured, limits, additional insured, waiver of subrogation, and renewal dates before you send a certificate.
Lions & Coventry Insurance Services (est. 2009; Bobby Uppal, CEO since 1998) places commercial coverage for contractors, construction firms, and cannabis businesses and is licensed in all 50 states. Use the form below to get the PDF checklist by email confirmation on this page. Need a certificate issued for a bid or job start? Request a quote or certificate help.
What the checklist covers
- Named insured and entity name matching the contract
- Policy numbers, effective and expiration dates
- General liability, auto, workers’ compensation, and umbrella lines when required
- Additional insured, primary and noncontributory, and waiver of subrogation wording
- Certificate holder vs. additional insured (they are not the same)
- When to request a revised COI after a renewal or endorsement
The checklist is general education, not legal advice and not a quote. It does not list premiums or carrier prices.
